Rough and Ready
Pro Easy Rougher
My best chainsaw skills still leave a bowl-to-be rough enough to have snapped other tools. Not so with this Easy Wood Tool rougher. You just need to make sure that you don't advance it too fast and jam your lathe. Slow steady movement is the key to hogging out the toughest wood. Also, perhaps not recommended, you can move this tool laterally too, lightly using the sides of the cutter. The key is not to try taking large bites using the full width of the cutter head. I don't use more that half the cutter head at a bite. The first months I used this tool, I did not change out the cutter as often as I should. Now, if I get any sense that the tool is bogging down, I rotate to a new cutting surface and mark the used side with a Sharpee. Also, doing heavy work with the Easy Rougher, the work is securely screwed to a face plate rather than a four pronged drive center to prevent tear out. I like the length of the handle. I can tuck the end against my body to reduce vibration.

Use this and you will be convinced
Started 4 different projects with this tool today and had great results from each. Should only get better with more practice. Truly a smooth cutting tool.
A Great Gouge
I follow both David Marks wood working skills along with his student, from The Wood Whisperer. Mr. Marks has designed or improved tools that he uses, and due to his experience, I have always found that he is correct in his decisions.
The tool is beefier and handles better than the original Ci1 Easy Rougher. I find the finish on these tools to be excellent as well.
Keep up the great work.
