Good design but...
Dog Leg Chisels, Set of 3
Good design (although not exactly a new concept)but low quality in execution. Had to lap the bottoms flat and, no matter how much I tried, I could not get a sharp edge on them (and I'd rate myself as fairly proficient, but not expert, at sharpening my gouges and chisels).

Not so sturdy
Got the 3-piece set as a gift. Used the left skewed chisel on western red cedar, a very soft wood, and the chisel broke at the thinnest part as the blade turns up at the dogleg. And no, I wasnt putting too much pressure on the tool. Have used these type chisel before on numerous occasions without problems but it was a set bought several years ago. Perhaps quality has changed. Even for a budget tool, it should not have broken so easily.
Handy for small motrises
I really liked the idea of these chisels for their size, they are helpful in small fine work like mortising small box hinges. They were fairly sharp as recieved, but before I could use them to their maximum potential, they had to be lapped flat, not unusual on chisels of any kind. but something to be aware of. Once tuned, they work great. The ferrules are cheap thin steel, and the handle generic stained hardwood is reasonably comfortable. Not fine chisels, but they do the job. Price to value, not too bad.
