Comments about Trash Can Cyclone Lid :

With 20-20 hindsight, I should have purchased a 2-stage dust collector. Not wanting to buy one now, adding a garbage can and Woodcraft's cyclone separator lid works pretty well. When seated correctly the lid does separate out nearly all the chips/dust and keeps the bigger 'stuff' from hitting the impeller. Thumbs up. About my only gripes are 1) the seal is a little hard to get lined up nicely with a Rubbermaid 20 gallon can (perhaps some other can fits the top perfectly) and 2) there is no attachment mechanism for the lid. A bungee cord does the job. If this lid fit the can better and came with a hold down it would be a 5-star item.

Fantastic, I hardly ever have empty the plastic bag under the vac system. I have Jet 650 Dust Collector and the bag stays empty just have to empty to trash can and the filter stays clean.

Comments about Trash Can Cyclone Lid :

Great product. Changing my dust collector bag is a real hassle, now I do not need to do it as often. I used it with my thickness planer and 98% of my dust went in the trash can, not the dust collector bag. Only cons are that it will not fit well on most plastic trashcans, so I had to buy a metal one and the inside deflector pipe needs to be seated well or it will fall out. Both of these cons are minor compared to the great results.

Comments about Trash Can Cyclone Lid :

I bought this to use in-line with my shop vac to collect chips from my planer. The planer has a blower that blows harder than the shop vac sucks, so I have positive pressure in the trash can and have to strap the cyclone lid on to keep the chips from blowing out. Almost nothing gets to the shop vac.
