Product Information:

These inexpensive box hinges are easy to install and work great on production runs. Just cut a slot with the appropriate thin kerf blade on a drill press and push the barbed hinge in the kerfed slot. What could be easier! The result is a nearly invisible hinge. This 7/8" hinge uses a .025" kerf high speed steel 2-1/4" diameter blade with 5/8" hole (Woodcraft #141591). The larger 1-1/8" hinge uses a .036" kerf high speed steel 2-3/4" diameter blade with 5/8" hole (Woodcraft # 141592). Sold in pairs.

    Comments about 7/8" x 9/16" Barbed Hinge (Pair) :

You have to be exact in your positioning of the slots and very careful about how you cut out the recess for the barel of the hinge to allow the parts to meet closely. A couple of small carefully cut pieces of wood are useful to push the hinges into the slots and a drop of adhesive such as Gorilla glue is needed to make sure the hinge doesn't pull out with use.
