Comments about DeWALT Scroll Saw Model DW788 :

I replaced a hitachi 16-inch with this dewalt. The Dewalt is QUIET! zero vibration unless it's run at full speed - 1400 rpm, then slight vibration. Solid machine. My local Woodcraft gave me a great deal with the stand and saw. I improved results immediately since there was no vibration, the blade tension stays where I set it and the table opening is minimal to reduce tear-out. A pleasure to use.

This scroll saw is used primarily for Intarsia type projects and is a significant improvement over my old 1952 Craftsman saw. I also purchased the work light and find it very useful.

Comments about DeWALT Scroll Saw Model DW788 :

I primarly use this unit for hobby woodworking building craft boxes & scrollwork. This is my second scrollsaw and this model is much superior than the entry level saw I had been using. It is relatively quiet, very low vibration, adequate blower & all adjustments within reach. The design is similar to more expensive Henger & Excalibur units. My two concerns are the light attachment that came with my unit, even with it tightened still would work it's way loose. Nothing that a couple washers didn't fix. The second was just annoying, my first unit had a faulty on/off switch, but Woodcraft was quick to send a replacement and accept the return. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and my experience with Woodcraft customer service.
