Comments about I-Socket Vacuum Automator :

Bought this item, has to be three years ago now, and have had no problems at all. Unit is mounted to the wall and hasn't moved since day one. It has heavy use in a busy wood shop with cheep owners that wont buy a dust collection system that we desperately need so we got this instead. will be purchasing 3 more today. reading some of the other reviews, I am keeping my fingers crossed that these ones work as well as the first one has.

Comments about I-Socket Vacuum Automator :

I bought on of these thinking it's exactly what I wanted. It worked great for a few months, and then died. I'm an occasional weekend woodworker, and didn't exactly stress the thing. I'd put this is the "nice idea but lousy execution" category.

Comments about I-Socket Vacuum Automator :

I recently built a mobile miter saw station and then purchased a Ridgid Shop vac to dedicate ot my miter saw. This is the perfect complement. I used a 25 foot extension cord to pulg this into. I was leary about this product after some of the reviews, but I just love it and the ease of use. No more moving my other shop vac and having to hook it up then remembering to turn it on. This product does it all for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Comments about I-Socket Vacuum Automator :

I bought this product about 4 or 5 months ago from the Jacksonville Florida Woodcraft store. Wanted it for my Bandsaw and a shop vac. The device will turn on the shop vac when not using the tool. I cannot trust it as it is a dangerous fire hazard.

Comments about I-Socket Vacuum Automator :

This is the third one of these sockets we have purchased. The first broke after a couple of days, and its replacement has worked for over a year. Running either a pair of chop saws or a saw + planer made the case to buy another socket. It worked for a day and then broke in half the first time it was unplugged. It is too bad that these sockets are so poorly made. They provide an easy way to combine vacuum+tool. If you get lucky and buy one that lasts, it's great. Otherwise they are a waste of money.

I cannot believe I ever hooked up my mitre saw to a vac without using this. As soon as I pull the trigger on the mitre saw, the vac kicks in right away and stays on a few seconds after...this is a must have if you have a dedicated vac at a miter station

Comments about I-Socket Vacuum Automator :

Makes dust collection easy to manage with little fuss. Add this to a shop vac and cyclone and you have a fantastic dust management system for a small/garage shop. I use the iSocket with a TrackSaw and/or miter saw with great results. It makes keeping up with the shop vac on/off remote a thing of the past. My only significant complaint with it is that it does NOT have a bypass switch. This means that if the dust collection on your saw isn't perfect, you'll be moving plugs around to sweep up. If the iSocket had an OFF/AUTO/ON switch so cord plugging/replugging wasn't necessary, it would be perfect.
