Comments about Snappy Tapered Countersinking Drill Set :

I bought the Pro Tapered Countersink Bits from [...] and tried it against the Snappy Tapered Countersinking Drill set that I bought from Woodcraft. They both perform the same function but the more expensive [...] set caused the wood chip to burn half way through drilling the hole. The bit actually discolored. I was surprised the chips actually smoked, and turned black. I used it on red oak that was kiln dried and on the same piece of wood. Both bits have the same profile as far as the taper and the grinding of the lead in point on the bit. The Snappy had a slightly smaller counter sink diameter. I regularly use this type of countersink bits and I was looking for a better product than I had bought a [...] I make gun racks (about 15 to 20 per year) and each rack uses a total of 28, 2" screws. I countersink the screws because I plug each hole. The racks are made from red oak so I need a good bit to hold up to the number of holes drilled.

Comments about Snappy Tapered Countersinking Drill Set :

got tired of my original set that never seemed to work properly. Well made, accurate and easy to set up and use. Haven't used them enough to comment on the long term durability.
