Dan Deulen created these simple sharpening jigs that make sharpening jointer and planer knives easy,cost-effective and fast. The key to the Deulen Sharpeners are the two brass blade holders, inset into the hardwood handle, that hold the blades securely and at the proper angle. With a blade in each track, it is a simple matter of holding the handle and rubbing the blades against an abrasive surface. We recommend Deulin’s PSA Abrasives pack which contains six abrasive strips in a progression of grits starting at 120 followed by 150, 180, 220, 320 and ending with 400 grit for final polishing. It couldn’t be easier, and the proof is performance. Yes, when you’re finished you’ll certainly be able to shave hair off your arm, but more importantly crisp wood shaving from your lumber. This is so easy to do, you’ll no longer put off sharpening your blades, so your machine won’t have to work as hard and the wood surface will be smoother with less tear-out. Have more than two blades, no problem. Dan has worked out a system of alternating the blades that takes just a little more time but yields the same fantastic results. Each sharpener comes with written instructions, a hex wrench and a short how-to video. Two sizes are available: 6" and 12" models. Abrasive paper pack sold separately.
