Hormigo Negro

Hormigo Negro has a dense, hard, reddish brown heartwood with dark stripes. This species machines well with sharp tools and polishes to a high gloss. In Central America, Hormigo is known as "woods that sing" and has traditionally been used in the manufacturing of Marimbas.
