Cabinet Rasps. Used by cabinetmakers for fast, accurate wood removal. Curved on one side, flat on the other, single cut on the edges. The shorter the rasp, the smaller the rasp teeth, the finer the cut. 2nd cut.
Nicholson Cabinetmaker's Rasps cut evenly and smoothly. Edges are cut to allow filing narrow grooves. All are curved on one side, flat on the other. '2nd cut' is slightly coarser and faster cutting than 'smooth'. 10" x 7/8". These are the smoothest cutting rasps you'll ever use.
Wood File. Half-round wood files are made like metal files, but have coarser teeth for use on wood. While a rasp cuts the wood with individual small teeth, this file smoothes it with a shearing action.
Cabinet Files. Finer than regular wood files, they give a smooth, clean cut. They are half round in section and slightly thinner than our regular wood files (06B06).
Round Rasp. A bastard cut rasp for quick removal of stock from circular openings and for forming concave surfaces.
Round File. For smoothing after preliminary shaping with a round rasp.
Screw-On File Handles are easier on the hand than plain file tangs and give you added control. Finished hardwood handles with heavy steel ferrules, 4-1/2" to 5" long.
